"Free at last, Free at last. . "

"Free at Last,
Free at Last,
Thank God Almighty, I'm free at last!"

The alarm went off today at 6:15am. I left Hoboken, NJ for my office in Astoria, NY at 7:40. Mapquest.com says the commute is 8.7 miles and should take 23 minutes. Now I am not sure what reality that Mapquest lives in, but any commute across the isle of Manhattan is not going to take 23 minutes. Maybe it does at 4 in the morning, but not during morning rush hour. It took me an hour and fifteen minutes.

In starting out the day so early, and envisioning to the pile of work that I have on my desk as well as the continued packing I needed to do for the evening, I really was not looking forward to today. The only expected highlight was going to be a cup of Chocolate Caramel Chai Tea in the afternoon. But that changed when I came into work this morning.

I spoke with the company that I have been working with to settle my credit card debts. In working things out we decided that I need to make a big payment on Monday and then everything will be settled. That's right, after Monday I will have NO MORE CREDIT CARD DEBT!!!!

You can't see me right now (because of the whole internet thing) but I am doing the Happy Dance!!

-Related side note, while this moving thing sucks and is immensely stressful, I know that positive changes are happening in my life.

Move #. . . .Gah, I have lost count!!!!!

I' m drunk.

Let me preface that as I write this bit at 2:45 in the morning. I'm drunk and I have to move out of my apartment tomorrow. This makes the 14 or 15th time Ihave moved since May of 1998. Gah!

I'll try not to cuss much in this post. But since I am drunk, and it has been awhile since I have posted, or been drunk, I can't promise much. Part of the reason I have been absent from this site is because I have had "blogger's block" ala the the comic "Non Sequitor" below.

(click on the comic to enlarge to read it.)

My life has been so busy and hectic that I have hardly had time to write my thoughts down. I have so much in my mind, though, that I am sure that I have enough to write for weeks. Hell, my thoughts on 9-11 alone can take up pages and pages.

But I digress.

I am writing, Blog-friends, to let you know that I am moving once again. My landlord is a scumfuck. Sorry, I was trying not to cuss, but this guy is just so low on the evolutionary chart. We're talking somewhere between mold spores and head-cheese. I didn't want to move until maybe January as I would have paid off the last of my credit cards and an a couple of outstanding depts. However, situations here have deteriorated so much that I have to get out.

Fortunately, I have friend on Long Island with whom I can crash for awhile. The big plus is that he lives right next door to my aunt and uncle. Once I settle in, which should sometime next week, I will get back to a more regular blogging routine.

Till then, my friends, peace!
