"Payback! This Time It's For Real!!"

It took 3 months and 6 days, but I finally got a result from the car accident I had on December 22nd. (Check out the two blogs I wrote about it. Part 1 & Part 2) While I was in North Carolina over the St. Patty's Day weekend, my insurance company called me to see if I had settled things with Liberty Mutual, the insurance company of the guy who hit me.

At that point I hadn't heard a final assesment from Liberty Mutual. Geico calls me back on Monday (3/18) saying that Liberty Mutual had accept the majority of the liability, but that hadn't figured out the final settlement. Cool, that meant I was going to get more than %50 of the estimated cost to fix my car. Fast forward to yesterday, (Tuesday), and I finally speak with Liberty Mutual's claim rep. She was waiting to hear from another department and would call me today (Wednesday).

I'm at the Doctor's office when I get the call. The final assesment was that they accepted 90% of the liability!!! And, they would get a check into the mail to me by that afternoon.

Hell yeah!!!

Both the claim representative from Geico and from Liberty Mutual said the photos I had taken and the blog posts I had researched and written really helped in understanding the accident and coming to a final decision. So on that note, I'd like to give thanks to my girlfriend for taking all those photos and for being a pillar of support that night, my mom and my Aunt Terry for teaching me persistance when dealing with companies and that it pays to do your research, My Dad for letting me read through is police law books when I was really younger (it finally came in handy!), and to Dr. Stuart Davidson of Greensboro College Math Department for teaching me about the breaking point of plastics and metals and all the hard math behind it.

More blog posts to come very soon!

Here's the commercial from which the title of the comes.
